Proverb Newsome is a Christian Hip-Hop artist from West Palm Beach, Florida (Bomb Beach).  

He originally got his musical start with the Christian Hip-Hop group 1Way. 

He was one of the founding members along with 2Edge, Versal, D-Love & Special K.  They were later joined by DJ Morph. 

1Way released 5 albums together. In 2008 the remaining members ( Proverb, 2Edge & DJ Morph) decided to try their hand at solo efforts. 

So in 2008, Proverb released his first solo album, A Common Man's Opus.  Proverb has released 3 more albums and many singles since then and is still making relevant music to date. 

In 2011 Proverb, 2Edge and DJ Morph wrote and published a Hip-Hop Devotional book titled Midnight Run: A 40 Day Souljourn Down The Narrow Road. Proverb said of the book... 

"It was always our desire to not only point people to Christ but walk with them as they got to know Him. This book enabled us to do that."  The book can be found on Amazon.com. 

On April 4th 2018 Proverb was listed on the ChristianHipHop.com  list of top 200 Holy Hip-Hop Pioneers & Ministers of the Gospel over the past 20 + years (1996-2018) advancing the Holy Hip-Hop Genre of music world wide. 

Also in 2018, Proverb ventured into the podcast world with his very own podcast titled The Souljourn. The podcast lasted from 2018-2020 and is currently in hiatus.
