  1. Cliches (Single)

This song came about because my friend Bert Bocachica extended an invitation to me to be apart of this project called Rapfest Presents Vol. III. This project is unique in that it pairs producers with emcees. I had never worked with Jay Orchestra before nor had I ever heard of him. I loved his track though. It inspired the lyrics that you hear on the song. I then got with my friend Tony P. to collaborate on the hook. We connected on Halloween night! It resulted in the hook you hear. This was a great experience. This by far was one of my most favorite and memorable recording experiences. I even got to take my son Micah to the recording session. He loves the song! I hope you enjoy it too!

Lyrics

They say things change the more they stay the same, I went from being hot to barely being in the game. I got shorties that I have to maintain, I’m trynna train em right and bring em up in the light, but it’s a fight UFC status, stand offs when I teach em’ stuff that matters.Like, No lying, biter no biting, yes sir no mam, and stop whining. It takes a Godly man to raise one that’s why every day I try to duplicate the son. Yeah, I’m tryin to be a carbon copy, game tight while world live madd sloppy. While they take shots and mock me hear the theme gonna fly now like Rocky. And ain’t nobody gonna stop me, I’m confident in Christ, I don’t mean to sound cocky. Look I’m just trynna give em Jesus, my sons, his blood our thesis.  We got a piece of the rock. We in good hands.  Allstate, call it C-Block.
Hook:
Enough of this he say she say
I heard enough about all that they say
While they hit the party and parley
We know the way not another cliché.
They say time flies when you’re having fun, well my watch is on a plane Cambodia here I come.Musicianary, me and young gunner, monrok nonstop all last summer.   We out to transform asia. 50 lb rice bag Daud from Malaysia.  I can’t forget California Mike, Nathan, Eileen, uncle Bob and his wife, I think her name was Brenda, Sandra lee, Jim &Cheryl, John & Regina. Pastor Setan Lee, killing field survivor, Khmer and the Bible. Tol Sleng darkness, bumpy van rides, meds, ministry partners. Can’t forget Dr. Randy, a stethoscope and God’s word quite handy, his daughter Gwen showed mercy to the souls lost down an ally like Kirsty. Brown water brown people queen Debbie showed em how to brush their teeth tho. And the Malaria’s leathal, endured it all to bring Christ to the people. I wouldn’t trade it for naught even tho the team left me behind in Angor Wat!
Hook:
Enough of this he say she say
I heard enough about all that they say
While they hit the party and parley
We know the way not another cliché.
They say things, you know what they just saying things. Got a message in my rhyme like I’m sending out a ping. Ding dong the wicked me is dead. Lullaby Mr. Sin then it’s off with his head. Stay sharp like #2 pencil lead, with content healthier than whole wheat bread. I gotta spit what Christ said red letta boy that’s why my rhyme’s brick red. Look, just get it through ya head ima spit til ya saturated like lake beds. Not I but Christ, real recognize real, Christ is my life. And I don’t care about hits, trynna warn ya offense about hell’s blitz. Cause it can throw you in the pit. Lake of fire, doing laps like Mark Spitz. Look, I’m just trynna live fa Jesus. Check “Midnight Run” if you forgot about my thesis. Prayer motivates my thinking, mountain into the sea telekinesis.
Hook:
Enough of this he say she say
I heard enough about all that they say
While they hit the party and parley
We know the way not another cliché.
All you need is love, that’s what they say, can anybody tell me who they are anyway? They just ruinin’ my day. Sittin back thinkin of these trite clichés. These days people need help, A slick quip from ya lips ya helpin yaself. Love is all ya need really sounds great, but if it’s all ya need why the high divorce rate? It’s even worse in the church, vows re-exchanged like the change of a shirt. Listen, Ima give ya Jesus look to the hills cause his help is a beast kid, Psalm 121.  Weighty truth like I just dropped a short ton. But I’m still havin funClichés are nice but I don’t wanna be one.
Hook:
Enough of this he say she say
I heard enough about all that they say
While they hit the party and parley
We know the way not another cliché.

Know Christ and make Him Known. Nothing else matters.
